Flooded Philippines calls for aid as death toll rises

The Philippines are appealing for international help in the aftermath of the deadliest flooding the country has seen for 40 years.

The floods, caused by more than a month of rainfall hitting the capital, Manila, in 24 hours, have left some 240 dead and more than 450,000 people homeless.

The country has appealed for foreign aid to deal with the disaster.
