About Volunteering
Whilst we connect volunteers with volunteering opportunities, we do not vet those opportunities or ascertain or determine their suitability or appropriateness for individual volunteers.

By applying for a Give Time event you give Virgin Unite permission to pass your email address on to the event organiser.

It is for you the volunteer to determine the appropriateness, suitability and safety of any volunteering opportunity you find via our site, and you accept that it is not Virgin Unite's responsibility.

We make no representation or warranty about the suitability, appropriateness or safety of any volunteering opportunity.

These terms and conditions do not govern your own arrangements with the organisations with which you volunteer, or your arrangements with any Virgin Unite Partner. We can provide you with a suggested framework for these arrangements upon request.
You agree and accept that we are not responsible, and shall not be held liable, for any loss, damages, claim, action, expense, liability or cost (including legal costs actually incurred) however caused:
• incurred by you in relation to any volunteering opportunity connected to or suggested by us;
• incurred by any organisation with which you volunteer or by any Virgin Partner in connection with you.
Nothing in this clause shall restrict our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, which shall not be limited.

Volunteer Obligations
You can only apply for volunteer opportunities once you have created a Virgin Unite account.

Some volunteering opportunities are created for employees of Virgin Companies only as part of their staff volunteering programme and are not accessible to non-Virgin employees.

When agreeing to perform a volunteer opportunity, you must agree to operate under the terms and conditions of the Unite Partner/Charitable Organisation, and are responsible for your own well being, property and involvement.

Before accepting a volunteer opportunity, you should confirm if there are any costs to be incurred.

Once you have accepted a volunteer opportunity, it is your responsibility to ensure the Unite Partner/Charitable Organisation have the correct details for you, including an emergency contact.

As far as possible, give as much notice as you can if you cannot attend a volunteer opportunity. If you are sick, call the relevant Unite Partner/Charitable Organisation to notify them that you cannot make it before you are due to start the volunteer opportunity.

Virgin Unite, or the Unite Partner/Charitable Organisation reserve the right to cancel volunteer opportunities at no notice, without reason.

Additional conditions for Virgin Company Employees
Virgin Staff must confirm they have read and understood the Volunteering Policy in force at their own Company before they apply for an opportunity in work time.

Virgin employees are not to take part in any volunteer opportunity needing training and/or a CRB check unless these are completed beforehand.

For Virgin Company staff volunteering in company time, any costs to be borne by the Company must be agreed in advance with your Line Manager or HR department before confirming.

When representing your company, avoid all behaviour that brings the brand or company into disrepute.
