Virgin Unite connects amazing people and great ideas to make positive change happen in the world.
We’re not about a single issue or about one big campaign, we’re about a way of living and working that aspires to put people and planet alongside profit at the core of all we do. We move beyond charity and CSR. It’s not about saving the world, it’s about reinventing how we live and work in the world, and showing that business can and must be a force for good (and that this is good for business). We catalyse change on three levels that all work together for greater impact...
We work with our businesses to ensure we are walking the talk. Virgin Unite is a radical engine for change that inspires, challenges and supports our businesses to truly put people and planet first. We do this by providing a range of services from helping a business define and articulate its purpose, through to building a “good” supply chain, to mobilising their communities, to shifting their investment strategy and beyond.
Leadership and Advocacy
We’re fortunate that the brand and Richard have a powerful voice, convening power and an entrepreneurial approach that can bring together unlikely marriages from the government, business and social sectors to catalyse longer term systemic change. We incubate new leadership initiatives such as the Elders, the Carbon War Room and the Entrepreneurship Hub. With Richard and the Virgin businesses, we also create powerful global advocacy campaigns such as Screw Business as Usual, the campaign to end the war on drugs and Gaia Rocks, our campaign to help protect our natural assets.
To support all of this, we’re building a community of people who never accept the unacceptable, who are well and truly screwing business as usual, and doing what’s right for people and planet in all they do. This is the foundation of it all, without this community the rest of our work would crumble. It is people that will ultimately make change happen in the world – and what a wonderful family we have to help make sure that we start a revolution (a good one that is) in the way we do business.
