Rural Transport Network

The need: Thousands of people in Kenya live in remote rural areas, miles from the nearest health clinic. Malaria, HIV/AIDS, respiratory tract diseases, diarrhea, and water-borne diseases are common. But a way to get to the clinic is not. This means distance and availability of transport can dictate whether you live or die.

The need: Everyone has the right to basic healthcare. But in rural South Africa this isn’t always a given. TB and HIV/AIDS ravage communities, like those in the Bushbuckridge area in the Mpumalanga province, most of the 500,000 population has limited access to health services and an estimated 20% are HIV positive.
