Business as a Force for Good


Bigger Futures for young people is our focus in  North America. We inspire and engage the Virgin Unite community of staff and customers, entrepreneurs, external businesses, celebrity ambassadors, governments and the general public, to create opportunities for vulnerable young people to build the Bigger Futures they deserve.

The game plan: Since launching in 2006, we have worked with all the Virgin Businesses in North America and  generated  millions worth of cash, volunteered time and in-kind donations. These have come from staff, customers and external partners and fund our work serving vulnerable young people throughout both countries. We’ve created meaningful opportunities for young people to build Bigger Futures, through counseling, education and employment training and support.  We’ve also helped to provide support and emergency services for some  40,000 young people in need.

The players:

Virgin Mobile USA:

A massive 2 million young people face homelessness each year in the USA. Virgin Mobile USA created The RE*Generation to change this and support homeless young people.

Virgin Mobile Canada:

Right now 65,000 youth in Canada do not have a place they can call home. Virgin Mobile Canada are on a relentless mission to change this.

Virgin America:

To be a great airline, Virgin America has committed to doing business in a way that is consistent with their values and those of their stakeholders

Virgin Galactic:

Inspiring students to seek answers to global challenges through science, technology, engineering, mathematics and business.

Virgin HealthMiles:

Making a positive impact on sustainability issues in the areas of health and the environment.

Galactic Unite

Virgin Galactic

Virgin Unite and Virgin Galactic have joined forces to create Galactic Unite. The initiative aims to inspire students to seek answers to global challenges through advancing education in science, technology, engineering, maths and business entrepreneurship.

Galactic Unite’s inaugural partnership is with the Student Launch Programme. It’s part of NASA’s Summer of Innovation Programme and is a competition in which students design experiments that use suborbital space to answer scientific and engineering questions.

For over seven years, Virgin Mobile USA has been working hard to use all its got to help end young homelessness.

They wanted to have a real impact on an issue that affects the community in which it operates, an initiative that would engage their customers and staff, as well as have a social impact and make a difference to the world. In addition to it being the right thing to do, they also believed that this would increase loyalty among their staff and customers.
