A unique approach
They’re a small team at Virgin Money South Africa so are always thinking carefully about how to best maximize their impact. Staff are always involved in whatever initiative they are driving.
They look for opportunities to pool their small resources together with bigger ones, so that they are part of a meaningful contribution to fulfill real and pressing need.
What do they support?
Throughout the year, Virgin Money South Africa volunteers support TheBranson Centre of Entrepreneurship which aims to equip entrepreneurs with the skills they need to develop their business.
The calendar for the rest of their year looks like this:
|
• |
Sept 2010 – Arbour Campaign Food & Trees for Africa |
|
• |
Nov 2010 – World Aids Day Campaign for Bhubezi Health Centre |
|
• |
July 2011 – Mandela Day , raising money for Crossroads Boys’ Shelter by donating books and stationery |
|
• |
August 2011 – Discovery Health Corporate Social Investment Initiative, gathering non-perishable food items for Somalia |
Impact?
All cash donations come from staff members and Virgin makes the money go further by matching contributions to double the impact.
Work with Virgin Unite
“I am proud to support the Virgin Unite initiatives, because they enable us to stand up with the rest of the Virgin Group and make a difference in a bigger way than we would be able to as the small VMSA team.”
