Claire's Mount Kenya Mountain Madness Climb!!

30 March 2010 days to go

About the event
I and 59 others are going to be climbing Mount Kenya and we will be supporting a Free the Children community in Sikirar in the Maasai Mara. Although secretly I’m hoping to charter a helicopter to take me straight to the top I have been training in a bid to at least attempt to shuffle up the mountain. I can often be found rolling in the mud in Hove or Brighton no not after a good night out! Its all part of my training with British Miltary Fitness its outdoor training miltary style! But not sure this will prepare me completely for the climb allthough the past social events will help with the celebration of the climb and money I have raised. This is a personal challenge for me and something I feel really inspired to take part in. Altitude sickness and the fact I can’t stand heights should prove for an entertaining and eventful trek! The aim is for the ‘Mount Kenya Mountaineers’ to raise at least £12,000. This works out at approx £200 per person and will fund a ‘community garden’ and ‘build and equip one classroom’, This is something that is really important to me and I really want to play my part in helping the children.
