About the event
Help us send kids from the KIPP Academy of Opportunity School in South Central Los Angeles on a trip-of-a-lifetime: to participate in the Presidential Inauguration events, tour local museums and monuments and local colleges.
Virgin America is a continuing partner of the California-based KIPP Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP). The airline auctioned seats on its very first flight for KIPP schools and also partnered with them on this year’s Earth Day clean-up with the California Parks Foundation. Earlier this month, the South Central Los Angeles-based KIPP Academy of Opportunity school received an invitation to the inaugural, but was unable to send more than a few students to DC. Virgin America stepped up with tickets for 12 of the school’s top essay-contest winning students from LAX-IAD and has pledged $3,000 to help offset travel costs and additional funding for the school.
Help us raise more and contribute whatever you can to this amazing campaign -- $5, $10, $15 – anything helps!
