Canadian rock sensations The Trews will be playing one of their incredible acoustic sets at Toronto’s Opera House on May 27, 2010 to support Virgin Mobile Canada’s RE*Generation movement. In partnership with Virgin Unite Canada, the non-profit foundation of the Virgin group of companies, the RE*Generation movement expects to raise over $200,000 this year for Canadian programs, including the Toronto-based Remix Project, that support at-risk and homeless youth. The funds will be raised through The Trews’ upcoming benefit concert and the sale of the RE*Generation Samsung Link™ phone, which hits stores today.
“With more than 65,000 homeless youth in Canada, we’re leading a movement to create awareness and find solutions,” said Robert Blumenthal, President, Virgin Mobile Canada. “Through our partnership with Virgin Unite and RE*Generation events like this benefit concert with The Trews, we’ll not only raise much needed funds, but also create awareness and inspire our communities to find ways to help innovative local programs like the Remix Project.
”The Trews will take the stage at the Opera House following featured performances by singer-songwriter Peter Elkas and Dana, a Remix Project graduate. Doors open at 8 p.m. for the show on Thursday, May 27, 2010.
