In South Africa, Virgin Unite is working with each of our Unite partners to help young people and communities fight the HIV and AIDS epidemic and to create self-sustainable programmes based on training, income generation and other entrepreneurial approaches to social upliftment.
HIV and AIDS has had particularly devastating consequences in South Africa, which has the largest number of people living with HIV and AIDS worldwide.
However, 95% of young people under 15 currently do not have the virus. By empowering this age group, we can make a real difference to halt the spread of the disease and fundamentally change the fortunes and future of South Africa.
