4: ‘Music royalties for a better life’ Shared by Cristoph Vonihr

"For emerging nations in africa - (and elsewhere around the globe). A simple idea. Produce local musical heritage with renowned international and/or national a-talent/music producers. there are tons of good music around and one can record originals, remix them or just put a spin on them. many of the hot guns in music biz are up to meaningful charity and a personal involvement with instant feedback helps a lot;-) let's jump into the production: use donated/sponsored/lent equipment for music videos, whereby the local(!) community is integrated in the video or its production (cast & crew, production of the set). the primary roi for manufactorers, supporters, sponsors etc. is product placement - however being in a video with a-talent has some balls, right? so for sure we can convince some mutlinationals to cover some expenditures... what next? just some boring (administrative) stuff... we have to arrange proper international copyright registration, administration that grants a 100% reliable distribution to the involved beneficiaries only. get the word out is everything! sir richards friend larry p for sure will promote the videos on his company youtube and his other company rightsflow will process the referring royalties (without or discounted deduction) to the rightsholders (or their representatives - e.g. an international governing body like the UNESCO). what to do with such a lot of money? this income is earmarked for social projects only(!) - medical care, education, building schools, getting seed, cattle, water and so on. and i mean for those things only. the overall picture: this will create good music & videos, a lot fun for the community and will strengthen the local heritage. besides, video consumers will generate donations (=real money) just by doing everyday things without spending a single penny. isn't there something missing? yes! as soon as these videos start to be successful we will make audio as well.. and this is the end? well, one can expand the idea by making short films of movies of the local heritage with music attached, but this is another story... 'music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything' - plato"

5: ‘Agricultural Solariums in the Sahara’ by Hiali Nahual-Quinonez

"Agricultural Solariums in the Sahara would provide new methods of raising staple foodstuffs for the ppl of that region and beyond (via trade). It would benefit the Sudan and North East Africa initially, and would be run internationally. Solar panels would provide most of the energy needed and an irrigation system set up using the power of the Nile source near Ethiopia. It would attempt to use as little pressure from the river, so as not to disrupt those who utilise the Nile as an energy source. This would provide much-needed jobs to ppl in that region. It would also boost them into the new millenium and put to use their engineering talents. If the experiment went well, this template could be applied to massive Greenhouses all throughout the Sahara. Water sources could be any river that can be irrigated and re-directed for solarium use: whether from water sources south of the Sahel to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Seas. These Agricultural Solariums could also utilise Space Technology and be experimental ground for actual space ventures later on."

Thanks again to this months winners for sharing!
